Valorant uses a completely different sensitivity scale from CS2 — and has its own ADS and scoped sensitivity settings that most players never configure correctly. Valorant and CS2 use different internal sensitivity multipliers — the same DPI combined with sensitivity 1.0 produces a very different aim speed in each game. As a rough guide, a Valorant sensitivity is approximately 3.18× lower than the equivalent CS2 sensitivity: CS2 1.0 ≈ Valorant 0.314, CS2 2.0 ≈ Valorant 0.629. This is why Valorant pro players appear to use much lower in-game sensitivity values — typically in the 0.2–0.5 range — compared to the 0.5–2.5 range common in CS2. The underlying aim speed, measured in physical centimeters per 360° turn, is actually very similar across both games' professional scenes. The practical consequence: never copy a CS2 sensitivity number directly into Valorant. Because Valorant's scale needs a smaller number for the same physical speed, using your CS2 number as-is will make you play at roughly three times your intended speed and your aim will feel out of control. Always use eDPI — the product of DPI × in-game sensitivity — as your reference, and be aware that Valorant eDPI values are numerically about 3.18× lower than their CS2 equivalents for the same physical mouse movement.

eDPI (effective DPI) = your mouse DPI × your Valorant sensitivity setting. This single number describes your actual aim speed regardless of how you split it across hardware DPI and in-game sensitivity. Windows Mouse Settings: What to Disable Before Playing Valorant

Valorant has processed mouse input via a dedicated low-level path since launch, and its Raw Input Buffer feature — a performance optimization for how the game's engine reads input-device data — has been active for all players since Riot removed the manual toggle in a later patch, after debuting it as an opt-in beta in patch 3.07. This means Valorant's sensitivity responds directly to raw mouse hardware data and largely bypasses Windows pointer processing. However, Windows-level acceleration and non-default pointer speed can still affect aim consistency in certain edge cases and will definitely affect other games that do not use raw input. Setting Windows correctly takes two minutes and prevents potential issues.

Within Valorant itself, there is no additional in-game acceleration layer to disable. Low Sensitivity / Arm Aiming (180–270 eDPI)

Best for players with an XXL mousepad who prefer wide arm strokes and precise tap-fire. Example config: 800 DPI × 0.3 sens = 240 eDPI. Scoped Sensitivity Multiplier: 1.0 (leave at default unless the Op or Marshal consistently feels too fast). Pros: excellent micro-correction for precise spray control and one-taps. Cons: repositioning quickly requires large physical movements — not ideal on smaller desks or with a standard-size pad.

Mid Sensitivity / Hybrid Aiming (270–380 eDPI)

The most common range among competitive Valorant players. Example config: 800 DPI × 0.4 sens = 320 eDPI. Scoped Sensitivity Multiplier: 1.0. Works comfortably on medium and large mousepads. Provides enough speed for reactive flicks on duelists (Jett, Reyna, Neon) while keeping precision for controlled agents (Cypher, Killjoy). The recommended starting point for most players.

High Sensitivity / Wrist Aiming (380–500 eDPI)

Suited for players with smaller pads, console converts, or those who prefer wrist-dominant movement. Example config: 800 DPI × 0.5 sens = 400 eDPI. Scoped Sensitivity Multiplier: 0.85–0.95 (lower to prevent scoped aim from feeling too fast, on Op/Outlaw/Marshal specifically). Enables quick 180° responses to flanks without lifting the mouse. The trade-off: Valorant's strict first-shot accuracy system penalizes micro-tremors — at higher sensitivity, wrist shake translates directly into missed shots during precision holds.
